The Rekero Education Center was founded in 2019 under a church building with a modest beginning—14 pupils and one teacher. From these humble beginnings, the school has experienced steady growth and progress. By the start of 2020, Rekero Education Center expanded to include two classrooms, an addition of 10 more pupils, and an additional teacher. This expansion marks the Center’s commitment to providing quality education to the children of the community, helping to shape brighter futures.

At Rekero Education Center, we believe that education is the foundation for change. Our aim is to create an inclusive environment where every child, regardless of their background, has access to quality learning and opportunities. We are dedicated to providing not only academic knowledge but also nurturing social skills and moral values that will empower students to thrive in the community and beyond.

School Budget and Needs

The development of Rekero Education Center has been supported by the generosity of donors and a community effort. However, the growing needs of the school require continued investment in infrastructure, resources, and staff.

The budget for expanding the school’s physical infrastructure is as follows:

– Classroom Construction: 1.5 million KSH (approximately 12,000 USD)

– Latrine Construction: 300,000 KSH (approximately 2,000 USD)

The school also requires ongoing financial support to maintain teacher salaries. Teachers at Rekero Education Center are vital to shaping young minds, and their monthly salary ranges from 300 to 500 USD depending on their experience and responsibilities. The school charges a modest fee of 50 USD per term, which includes meals, ensuring that children are well-nourished while receiving quality education.
